Academic staff from the University of Liverpool saw success at the IPSERA conference last week in Budapest.

Dr Jo Meehan, Bruce Pinnington and Dr Laura Menzies attended the conference which took place between the 9th and 12th April 2017. IPSERA, the International Purchasing and Supply, Education and Research Association, is a unique multi-disciplinary network offering researchers, practitioners and educators a platform for development and extension of knowledge concerning Purchasing and Supply Management. The Annual Conference allows the exchange of most recent research developments in an inspiring scientific and social environment with contributions from academics in any field that is concerned with the understanding of Purchasing and Supply Management.

Bruce Pinnington, with a colleague in Nantes, won the Best Overall Paper award at the event. Bruce and his research colleague, Rima Ayoub, Ecole des Mines de Nantes, co-wrote their paper "Rebuilding supplier relationships: An action research study of contract complementarity" after forming a collaborative relationship following last year’s IPSERA conference.

Bruce along with Jo Meehan and a colleague from Manchester Metropolitan University, also won the Best Published Paper (2016) in the Journal of Purchasing & Supply Management, with their paper entitled "A grounded theory of value dissonance in strategic relationships."

ULMS has experienced previous success at the annual IPSERA conference with Jo Meehan, Laura Menzies and Roula Michaelides winning the Best Healthcare Paper for their work on value based procurement in the NHS.  Three of Jo’s papers have been selected for publication in the annual 'Best of Conference' special issues in JPSM in 2013, 2015 and more recently, a paper written with Laura and Roula in 2016. Former PhD candidate, now Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Management School, Dr Colette Russell, was also successful in 2013, winning the CIPS bursary award for the most innovative PhD proposal.
