Management School students are competing in an annual competition which sees university’s Enactus groups present progress against their projects.

The University of Liverpool society presented at the North West regional competition on the 9th March and were successful in securing a place in the national finals in London on the 10-11th April. The team includes Management School students; Nirav Tanna (Enactus President, BA Accounting and Finance),  Claire Schwarzenbach (Vice President, BA Business Managament), Eiman Raza, Zeena Bazzaz, Ibrahim Mujahid (all BA Accounting & Finance) and Liz Hancock (BA Business Management).

Enactus Liverpool aims to create sustainable businesses for disadvantaged people around Liverpool and across the globe. Enactus Liverpool currently runs domestic projects working with vulnerable women, people with learning difficulties and youth centres around Liverpool as well as international projects, one implementing water filters in the poorest parts of Vietnam, and another empowering people to become internet entrepreneurs in India.

As part of their preparations, the team presented in front of a number of ULMS staff in order to gain some constructive feedback. The students were able to take on board the comments received from the practice session and apply this to their regional presentation. Alongside their talk, they independently produced a video documenting their time helping homeless people on their Inspire project.

Gary Dewey, Senior Lecturer in Finance and Accounting and University Enactus Adviser, highlighted the importance of progressing to the final stages of the competition commenting that “the national finals are a very professionally run and inspiring event.”
