Management School delivers football business session for Georgetown University students

The University of Liverpool Management School welcomed colleagues from Georgetown University on the 7th March.

Staff and students from the Georgetown University Sports Industry Management programme attended a guest football business session with Professor Sue Bridgewater at the University of Liverpool in London campus.

The students, who will be visiting a range of sports clubs, governing bodies and agencies across a range of sports, including basketball and football, during their London immersion programme asked some great questions of Professor Sue Bridgewater, Director of the University of Liverpool's Centre for Sports Business. Students were able to experience the teaching space offered at the Liverpool in London campus, which is located in the heart of London’s business district.

The University of Liverpool Management School’s Centre for Sports Business is a renowned global centre for excellence with a team comprises of industry specialists, carrying out cutting-edge research into a range of business, economic and cultural aspects of sport including football management, sport data analytics, sports markets and leadership in sports. The School offers the world’s first and only Football Industries MBA as well as a new MSc in Sports Business, launching in 2017. The Management School looks forward to working closely and exchanging knowledge with colleagues at Georgetown University, peers in research and teaching of global sports business.

Georgetown delivers a Masters level programme in Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management. Their faculty includes expert practitioners from leading organisations such as the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, Octagon, U.S. Olympic Committee, and the NFL Players Association.

Students were accompanied by Faculty members Jimmy Lynn and Marty Conway, both Lecturers in SCS MPS Sports Industry Management.
