BA Accounting and Finance receives ICAS accreditation

Published on

This academic year the BA Accounting and Finance and BA Accounting with a Year in Industry programmes have been successful in gaining accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).

ICAS is the world’s first professional body of Chartered Accountants and is a regulator, educator, influencer and thought leader of the professional business community. Their internationally recognised and respected CA qualification (Chartered Accountant) is held by business people working in the UK and in more than 100 countries across the world.

All students who complete their degree programme will receive five exemptions from the Tests of Competence level which is the maximum available to any University. This is in addition to the maximum available exemptions from Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA).

Director of Studies, Catherine Gregory, commented “This is great news and further proof of the Accounting and Finance programme’s strong reputation amongst Professional Bodies and Industry. Our programme staff work very hard to ensure students are taught the most up to date content and our ICAS accreditation is testament to that. Students can be confident that upon graduation they’ll have a significant advantage over other graduates in their job search.”
