MBA Guest Speaker: Ben Jones, AMJ Communications

Owner of AMJ Communications, Ben Jones, delivered a presentation for MBA Students and Undergraduate Marketing students at the Management School.

A University of Liverpool Alumnus and also a current PhD student, Ben used example case studies from his experience working for both private and public sector organisations in the UK and overseas to illustrate his presentation. He spoke about successful organisations being "obsessed with reputation and brand" and how organisational communication is shifting from day-to-day tactical functions to more aligned, long-term strategies.

Using this experience to run his own company, Ben offers consultancy to other organisations.  He highlighted the importance of listening and paying attention to encourage involvement and buy-in as part of communication stategy development.  

He added, "If you can find the right words and language you can influence people by creating the right messages for them".  

Ben also spoke about having simple, clear messages that attract and hold attention quickly, particularly in today's modern world where consumers are bombarded with information.
