Management School welcomes local business community

The eighth 'Growth through Marketing' breakfast session was held at the Management School today, organised with Elephant Digital, a digital and web design agency based at Liverpool Science Park.

Management School Director, Professor Julia Balogun, welcomed visitors from a range of local organisations and SME's to the session in the School's new extension.  Julia explained how important it is for the Management School to engage with the local business community and how pleasant it is to now have the facilities to host such sessions on site.  She finished by encouraging audience members to visit to the Management School again in the future.

Presentations, with a focus on developing SME's, were then delivered by a panel of four guest speakers: Anji Adams, Marketing Director of Tactical Solutions who spoke about the lessons SME's can learn from global brands; Ben Jones, Managing Director from AMJ Communications, who spoke about communicating in the corporate world; Richard Holloway, Project Manager at the University of Liverpool, who presented on the 'Growth Catalyst' leadership programme; and Phil Birss, Managing Director of Elephant Digital who ended the workshop with a session on content marketing.

Phil, who led the workshop, also spoke about the level of uncertainty for SME's in the current economic climate but re-affirmed that "the SME market is what will grow the economy".

The session ended with a tour of the new Management School building.
