Customer Experience and Marketing Consultant for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Sarah Barrett, recently delivered a guest lecture for final year students studying the Corporate Communications module. The lecture covered Sarah's work at the airport, how she uses both external and internal communications to help build the airport’s brand and develop its competitive advantage.

The aim of the lecture was also to help students understand how communications theory works in practice, and also gain insight into the employability skills needed to work in this fast-paced sector.

A student commented: "I have never thought that branding an airport was so complex. We most often think only about airline marketing, but it is definitely a smart idea to have synergy among all the communication tools used. I really enjoyed the session with Sarah and hats off for the way she changed the perception of the airport in every little detail."

Commenting on her guest speaker session, Sarah said: "It was a pleasure to be asked to present a guest lecture for the Corporate Communications module and to see the number of students actively engaged in studying a very important area of business activity.  Here at Liverpool John Lennon Airport we take our communications activity very seriously and it's good to know that the communication managers of the future are being well prepared through their course. The students' questions and ideas were interesting and show a very good level of engagement in the topic and its potential as a career. I wish the students and the Management School all the best for the future."
