Football Industries MBA (FIMBA) students were privileged to visit the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland this month. The trip to UEFA has been a regular feature in the FIMBA calendar.

Whilst there, students had the opportunity to engage in a simulation learning exercise, looking at how one of football's leading governing bodies organises and stages matches for a global audience. They assumed a variety of roles and were involved in key decisions. The visit included a tour of the facilities and presentations on Club Licensing, Financial Fair Play, and UEFA’s Marketing and Business Models.

Football Industries student, Mario de Rossi said, "The visit to UEFA was without a doubt one of the most interesting and educational tours of the entire MBA programme. Not only is the UEFA Headquarters surrounded by a picturesque and a beautiful environment in Nyon, but has excellent and sophisticated state-of-the-art facilities. We got to participate in a simulation exercise on venue management in order to understand how the various roles are assigned with a number of responsibilities to ensure a flawless management of a grand sports event such as the UCL. The meeting with various professionals UEFA also gave us the networking opportunity with leading professionals in the sports industry."
