MBA Guest Speaker: Alterity Directors, Dave Mackay & Sandy Wilson
The MBA guest speaker series continued with a talk from Alterity Directors, Dave Mackay and Sandy Wilson.
Dave and Sandy delivered their presentation, “strategy beyond templates” to an audience of MBA students in the Brett Building. They explored topics such as development of strategy across hierarchical organisational levels, how to link functional strategy with business strategy and innovating with the outputs of a strategy making session.
Dave and Sandy work closely with a variety of management levels in the areas of strategy, change and innovation. They are engaged in teaching and consulting across diverse industries and academia, supporting organisations to formulate and implement better strategy.
Between them, they have extensive international experience in both teaching and consulting including USA, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and the UAE, working for and with companies such as Proctor and Gamble, Royal Bank of Scotland and Manchester City Football Club.
Alterity’s main aim is to map out ideas with clients about how to overcome key challenges in strategy work in order to improve management commitment and engagement to strategic plans.
Dave said: “by asking open questions with clients, Alterity improves the raw materials of a business in order to create strategies that tackle the main aims of the organisation”.
