Susannah Clements, Deputy Chief Executive for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD),  visited the Management School recently as a guest speaker, providing an additional feature to the MSc Human Resource Management programme.

Susannah joined CIPD as Deputy Chief Executive in September 2013. She brings 29 years’ experience in HR, change management and consulting, including time at ITV, Whitbread, Anglian Water, Care UK and PwC. She holds an MBA from the London Business School and a degree from Cambridge University.

The talk given by Susannah, entitled ‘Trends and future thinking in HR’, focused primarily upon HR trends and current innovations, careers and the evolution of HR within an international context and future predictions for both management and development within the sector.  She also spoke in relation to CIPD’s own contribution to the professional HR community, from both a UK specific and broader global perspective, where their own organisational expansion plans must adapt to reflect the changing nature of employment.  The event was attended by the ULMS postgraduate student cohort, in addition to a variety of professional members of the CIPD’s Merseyside, North Cheshire and North Wales regional branch.
