The University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) is extending its international reputation for research and professional development work in the management of higher education.

Following on from a programme for senior leaders and managers from Zhejiang Gongshang University in China, the School organised a one-week course for a group of staff and postgraduate students from the University of Tokyo in Japan.

Professor John Taylor, Professor of Higher Education Management at the School who led the programme, said: “The Tokyo programme covered many different aspects of higher education management, including strategy and organisation, resources, quality, management information, research management, communications and internationalisation.”

After completing these programmes, John also visited Aarhus University in Denmark where he delivered two staff workshops, one on the management of internationalisation in higher education and the other on the management of research in higher education.
