What did you study at A-level and why did you select those subjects?
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physical Education. I chose these subjects because they perfectly aligned with my goals and aspirations. I wanted to build a future in science, so PCB was the ideal combination for me. More than that, I was always inquisitive about how nature, the world, the human body, and flora and fauna exist in the universe. I’ve also had a passion for fitness, which led me to choose Physical Education as an optional subject.

Master’s in Biotechnology.
What inspired you to choose and study your degree subject?
I studied basic biology at A-level, which gave me a strong foundation and inspired me to pursue a bachelor's in Life Sciences. Later, I chose a master’s in Biotechnology because I wanted to gain more specific knowledge in one field, rather than having a general understanding of many.

What is your current job and what do you enjoy about it?
I currently work as a QC Microbiology Analyst. I love every bit of my job—what’s better than serving a noble cause like manufacturing vaccines and getting paid for it? I enjoy the work environment, the support from my seniors and colleagues, and, above all, the technical skills I am constantly developing.
Do you have an area of research?
I would love to delve deeper into cellular and structural biology.
What has been your most exciting project?
Every role I’ve had has shaped me in one way or another. The most exciting project I’ve worked on was during my time at the University of Glasgow, where I researched ubiquitination and Fanconi Anaemia.
What are your top tips for working in your industry/sector?
Be passionate about science, stay curious at every step of the process, and always be creative.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Never stop taking risks as long as you believe in yourself. Never stop believing in God—when He blesses, He blesses beyond imagination.
Any advice you’d like to share?
Never stop believing in yourself, and never stop working hard. Have faith in God, eat well, talk less, and observe more. Be resilient—it's better to see no immediate results from your hard work than to do nothing at all. At least then, you’ll have the satisfaction of having tried.
