SLSE is based around communicating five major points of information to current students and past graduates:

1. A degree in the life sciences can lead to a plethora of different careers pathways, and if you have no idea which path to take, there are lots of resources to help you make your decision
2. Your degree is already training and preparing you for whatever you choose to do in the future
3. Getting work experience whilst at university can be vital to whatever you choose to do
4. If you wish to undertake postgraduate study, there are always ways to maximise your chances
5. There are many other important ways to enhance every aspect of your employability, for example using resources as LinkedIn effectively
