LA³NET at the 1st European Advanced Accelerator Concepts Workshop
LA³NET fellows Aimierding Aimidula and Andreas Döpp both attended and contributed posters to the 1st European Advanced Accelerator Concepts Workshop held at Elba, Italy between June 2nd and 7th 2013. Steve Jamieson, the scientist-in-charge at STFC also contributed to the workshop.
Topics in this workshop included novel concepts in accelerators such as plasma accelerators driven by lasers and particle beams, dielectric structures, and advanced diagnostics for beams and plasma, and computations for accelerator physics. 145 researchers participated from 69 institutes from 15 different countries.
Aimierding presented a poster entitled "Fibre laser based dielectric gratings accelerator" and reported that ‘the conference provided an excellent platform to understand the frontiers of novel accelerators, and meet people who are in the same research area to discuss and get comments.’
