IT Services is here to help you start your digital journey here at the University of Liverpool smoothly. Here are seven steps to get set up before your course begins:

1. Activate your IT (MWS) account

Also called a Managed Windows Service (MWS) account, this gives you access to all our digital services like your email, Wi-Fi and more!

2. Set up Duo (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second method of identity verification.

3. Access your University email account

Once you have activated your IT (MWS) account, please allow 24 hours for your email account to be ready for use.

4. Complete academic registration

Academic Registration is the process in which you confirm your place on your degree course. Instructions will be sent by email.

5. Upload a photo for student ID

You must upload a photo to My Liverpool as part of your Academic Registration.

6. Connect to eduroam

Once you’re on campus, connect your device to the University Wi-Fi, eduroam.

7. Confirm attendance

Confirming your attendance is the final step to preparing for your studies. You will receive an email shortly before your start date with the details on how to do this, but most students can only do it on campus.
