Terms of Reference

A Research Degree Appeals Board shall hear and determine appeals from unsuccessful candidates for postgraduate research degrees which may be referred to it, as prescribed by Regulations.

Reporting Relationship

All matters relating to the findings of the Research Degree Appeals Board will be reported to or, as appropriate, considered by the Committee for the Award of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates, which acts under delegated authority from the Senate.

* In the event that there should be any potential conflict of interest on the part of the designated Chair or for other exceptional circumstances, the Vice-Chancellor, acting on behalf of the Senate, shall have authority to appoint an alternative Chair to hear a particular case or cases.
