Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.
Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

The University of Liverpool Management School is delighted to launch our new ‘ULMS Masterclass’ webinar series with an exploration of the world of Financial Technology. During the session you will discover:
• Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and altcoins - how do they work, price projections and valuation fundamentals
• Advancements in central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) including; the U.S., UK and China
• Developments in corporate currencies such as Facebook and J.P. Morgan’s ‘JPM Coin’
• The future of money, digital dollars & cashlessness as a response to COVID-19.
• The continued rise of decentralised finance (DeFi) - what's hot and what's not?
• A critical review of the case for Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset for corporates (e.g. Tesla) and central banks
Speaker Profile:
Delivering the session will be Associate Professor in Financial Technology, Mr Gavin Brown. Gavin is a Fellow of The ICAEW as a chartered accountant and holds both a Bachelors and MSc in Business Management as well as an MBA from the University of Oxford (Said Business School). His research focuses on payment technologies and the future of money, specifically cryptocurrencies and stablecoin pricing. From 2017 to date, Gavin has performed in excess of two hundred media engagements reaching an audience of 100+ million people.
‘ULMS Masterclass’ is a new webinar series for University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) alumni to continue their personal and professional development. Webinars are delivered by ULMS academic staff and graduates with industry expertise. They are designed to provide graduates with professional skills and knowledge and connect graduates with the School.
This session also supports the promotion of the new MSc Financial Technology programme.
