Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

Elettra Stamboulis is a comic writer, teacher, translator and art curator. A co-founder of the international Komikazen Festival of reality comics (2005-2015), she is a pioneer of graphic journalism in the Mediterranean and co-author of numerous graphic reportages and non-fictional comics. Her work is widely translated and published on a variety of underground and mainstream media such as Le Monde Diplomatique and the Italian weekly magazine Internazionale

The event will introduce the audience to the rise and development of Graphic journalism in Italy since the turn of the century, its actors and publishers, and focus on the specific experience of Stamboulis as author of reportages and non-fictional comics.

The event is hosted by Dr Barbara Spadaro and the students of the module Comics and Graphic Novels: Memory and Transcultural Mobility as part of the XX Settimana della Lingua italiana nel mondo - 20th Week of Italian in the World, dedicated to L'italiano tra parola e immagine graffiti, illustrazioni, fumetti [Italian between words and images: graffiti, illustrations, comics]. In English, open to students and staff.
