Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

2020 is a year with great challenges. Some jobs have been lost forever, many people have to adjust their work and life patterns to accommodate changes brought by the pandemic.
In this event, our speakers will share some employment insights. We will discuss a range of issues related to employment, for instance, how has the employment practice has changed? What do employers look for in a candidate? How to stand out in virtual recruitment process? How to improve your virtual presence and digital networking? How to stay resilient in a challenging job market?
Participants will have time ask questions and interact with our speakers.

Mr Darren Seah (2018 MSc Management)

Darren has been working in China since 1999. He has accumulated substantial experience in managing subsidiaries and joint ventures in challenging and sophisticated market, known for its vast difference in culture and human relationship complexity.
Darren has worked in sales, marketing and senior management roles in various corporations. He has also worked and managed different functional departments, for example, finance, production, R&D, HR, and procurement. Darren strongly believes in continuous improvement and upgrading of one's ability.

Mr Qiang Wang (BEng Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, XJTLU 2012)

Qiang has over 8 years of professional experience in human resources management. Especially in talent acquisition and talent management. Prior to his current role at Johnson & Johnson China, Qiang worked for multinational corporations such as Eli Lily, Danaher and Honeywell. Apart from his study experience at XJTLU, Qiang has also completed a Master of Psychology degree and a Master of Education degree.

Ms Sabaet Campbell
Global Employability Officer at the University of Liverpool Management School
Working in a unique position at management school, Sabaet has years of experience working with international students in the UK and understands the challenges as well as opportunities they face in their career planning. She is dedicated to working with MSc students and responsible for liaising with international employers and linking international students studying in Liverpool with global employers.

Sylvia is very familiar with current recruitment trend and the employment status of overseas students. She has helped thousands of overseas students find suitable jobs.
