Registered guests will receive details of the event and, nearer the time, the Zoom link via email in advance of the event. A Facebook account is NOT required to gain access to the event via the University of Liverpool Facebook page. Instructions will be provided to all who register for this event. PLEASE NOTE: there is limited capacity on Zoom so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day. Access to the event via Facebook is unlimited.

Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

Join Professor Tom Solomon as he hosts a regular discussion of Coronavirus and its impact on science and society in Liverpool. Tom talks with leading Liverpool researchers and professionals about the scientific progress being made in the city to tackle the virus and chats about the wider impact of the pandemic with local experts.

His guests this time are criminal barrister and leadership coach, Sharon Amesu: and Senior Fellow in Infection at the University of Liverpool and Honorary Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at University Hospital Aintree, Dr Dan Wootton.

Professor Tom Solomon is Director of the UK's Emerging Infections Research Unit based as the University of Liverpool, and appears regularly on television and radio discussing science.

Sharon Amesu is a criminal barrister turned professional speaker and leadership coach. As Manchester chair of the Institute of Directors North West, and director of SA Consulting, she is passionate about helping organisation and leaders discuss issues around race and diversity, whilst also supporting them face the business challenges during the pandemic.

Dr Dan Wootton is a Senior Fellow in Infection at the University of Liverpool, and Honorary Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at University Hospital Aintree. His has been studying pneumonia for the past ten years, and is at the forefront of the hospital response to COVID-19.
