Bringing the world in Liverpool new series Alumni talks

Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

We have joined forces with the Alumni Relations team and our graduates, to bring you a new series with the aim to connect you to graduates living and working in different parts of the world.
The purpose of this new event series is to offer students and alumni the opportunity to hear from a variety of graduates, from different professional backgrounds in different parts of the world. The series aims to inspire students about the different career paths available, as well as offer an insight into living and working in different countries.
Our first event features three graduates from Malaysia and Singapore on 9 June 2020

Speaker Biographies:

Preeti Dubey (MBA, 2007), Leadership Consultant

Preeti has been involved in the field of Training & Counselling since 1996. She is focused on driving results for individuals and client organisations through consulting, training, and coaching. She emphasises on improving productivity through Emotional Intelligence and Effective Management Practices. Preeti is committed to developing women leaders and delivers empowering programs specially designed for women. She believes women face unique challenges that are different from men and need to be addressed differently.

Dr Helmi Zakariah (Masters of Public Health, 2016), CEO, AIME (Artificial Intelligence in Medical Epidemiology)

My career pathway has gotten me involved with various segment of society; government entities, Intergovernmental bodies such as the World Health Organization and United Nations, International NGOs, private corporations, and marginalized communities. Through these enriching engagements, I developed additional soft skillsets such as advocacy, collaboration, and multilateral negotiations, in addition to my formal training in medicine and international health affairs.

Clive Ellul Hawthorn (MBA, 2009), VP, Sales & Marketing, Azerai Hotels & Resorts

As an executive with more than 15 years of experience in sales strategy and leadership, account management, product development and marketing roles across the travel and technology industries, Clive has championed several successful initiatives and leveraged key partnerships to set up, grow and scale businesses within global organisations. After spending almost a decade in the travel industry, Clive was headhunted to lead a key region in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Expedia Group (EG), a global travel technology company. After two years he took on multi-region responsibility in the Asia Pacific region with a tenure that lasted around 4 years.

Clive transitioned back into the hospitality industry in the capacity of VP, Sales & Marketing with the remit of increasing the footprint of a brand new hotel group, designing corporate strategy and directing large-scale organisational change, together with overseeing the creation of Azerai’s brand identity and the overall Sales and Marketing team leadership and strategy. Clive also consults venture capitalists, investors and key executives, with a particular focus on the travel and technology industries.
