The UN's Sustainable Development Goals, COVID-19 and our research - A Talk by Professor Dame Janet Beer (Vice-Chancellor, University of Liverpool)

Earlier this year, The University of Liverpool signed an accord committing to the UN’s SDGs. We are already doing a great deal to work towards the achievement of these goals, particularly through our research. There is perhaps no more obvious current example than our research response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through colleagues’ work to find a vaccine, to assess the psychological impact of lock-down, to use big data to support better decision making and much, much more the University is contributing in a significant way to both the immediate pandemic and the SDGs.
In her talk, Dame Janet will highlight areas of the University’s research, its role in tackling the pandemic and how these ultimately support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals
