Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

The Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool in London and Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith,will be hosting a special event at University of Liverpool’s London Campus, entitled 'The Irish Language: A Day of Literature and Film'.

Professor Peter Shirlow, Director, The Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool, will open proceedings.

Professor Angela Bourke, MRIA, Emeritus Professor of Irish Language Studies, UCD, will deliver a lecture entitled, 'Scéalaithe as Conamara: Abhus is Thall’ ‘Some Connemara Storytellers: Over Here and Over There’.

Lunch will be provided for guests, included in their £10 refundable deposit.

After lunch, a series of short films, provided by and in association with IFI International and introduced by Professor Lance Pettitt, will be shown.

Following this, Gráinne Ní Mhuilneoir, Publishing Officer, Cois Life, will give a talk, showcasing the 'Read Books from Ireland': Irish-language publishing initiative.

Guests will have the opportunity to browse an array of books by Irish-Language publishers, before enjoying readings and recitations by students from Irish language classes from London and Cambridge.

Please note that the event will be in Irish/English.
