“What did my PhD do for me?” will focus on the skills we gain as postgraduate students, and how these can help us heading into a variety of professions. Five invited speakers, including Honorary fellow and managing director of Wiley Publications, Richard Threlfall, have volunteered to discuss their career experiences and how important their PhD studies were in achieving their successes. This talk aims to highlight the importance of the skills we gain outside of our specialities, and how they can be influential on our future careers.
Speakers are:
Laura Clews – Patent Attorney, Mathys & Squire Intellectual Property
Thomas Pugh – Advanced Materials Lead, Datalase Ltd.
Carly Brooke – Teacher of Chemistry, Liverpool Life Sciences UTC
Anna Slater – Dorothy Hodgkin EPSRC Fellow, University of Liverpool
Richard Threlfall – Honorary Fellow of the University of Liverpool and Managing Editor Wiley Publications

Following the seminar there will be a networking session in the Materials Innovation Factory Atrium including wine and nibbles, and is free to attend.
