Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

This year the talks promise a fantastic insight into contemporary advances in the Earth Sciences.
This year the speakers will be:
• Dr Guillem Anglada (QMUL)- Proxima b, Planets around Red Dwarfs and the search for life beyond the Solar System
• Dr Hugh Tuffen (Lancaster)- Rhyolitic Magma on the Move
• Dr Kate Hendry (Bristol) - The Beauty and usefulness of Sponges to reconstruct Ocean chemistry
• Prof Sarah Davies (Leicester) – The rise of a new Terrestrial Ecosystem in the early Carboniferous
• Prof Stuart Haszeldine (Edinburgh)- Fossil fuels, and the use of Carbon Capture and Storage in the UK
• Dr Marian Holness (Cambridge) Seeing, not looking: Petrographic decoding of mafic rocks

Registration from 9.30am. Talks from 10.00am. (Wine reception from 5pm)

Herdman?– Sir William Herdman was the founder and benefactor the Department of Geology at the University of Liverpool. The Herdman Society is the undergraduate society for the Earth Sciences at the University. The Jane Herdman Laboratories were named for William’s wife and the George Herdman Chair of Geology established in memory of their son who died in World War 1.
