Dr Bray will talk about her work as a social anthropologist and painter. Her work focuses on the potential of naturalist-realist painting for exploring identity. She moved from Berlin to the USA in 2011, in the footsteps of her maternal great grandfather. Whereas he came to Nevada as a Basque sheepherder from rural France in the 1920s, she came to take on the position of professor at the University of Nevada Reno’s Center for Basque Studies. Since Autumn 2014, she is Lady Davis visiting professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. http://www.zoebray.com/
