Ned Beauman has written three novels and was included in Granta’s 2013 list of 20 best young writers. His first novel, Boxer, Beetle, was shortlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize and the Guardian First Book Award.
Lauren Elkin’s latest book, Flaneuse: Women Walk the City is a cultural history of women writers and artists who have found personal freedom as well as inspiration by engaging with cities on foot, and includes chapters on Virginia Woolf, Jean Rhys, Sophie Calle, and Agnès Varda, among others. It was Book of the Week on BBC Radio 4. She is Lecturer in English and co-directs the Centre for New and International Writing at the University of Liverpool.
The White Review is an arts and literature quarterly magazine. The magazine launched in February 2011 to provide ‘a space for a new generation to express itself unconstrained by form, subject or genre’. It publishes fiction, poetry, essays and artworks and has featured established figures such as John Ashbury, Julia Kristeva, Tom McCarthy China Mieville, Paula Rego and David Harvey as well as new and emerging writers, critics and artists.
Ben Eastham is the co-founder and editor of The White Review. As an arts journalist he has contributed to the Times Literary Supplement, The London Review of Books, the New York Times, Elephant, and the Art Newspaper. He has previously worked as a journalist at the BBC and curator at Hannah Barry, London.
