"Latest news on the Higgs Boson: ATLAS and CMS at the Large Hadron Collider: past, present and future"

Professor Beate Heinemann (Deputy spokesperson of ATLAS).
Department of Physics at the University of California Berkeley.

Abstract
The 2nd run of the Large Hadron Collider started in 2015. Compared to the 1st run (2010-2012) the proton-proton collision energy was increased from 8 TeV to 13 TeV, and the collision rate was increased. I will review the 1st LHC run, then describe the improvements for the 2nd run, and discuss selected results obtained based on the 2015+2016 data. I will also provide an outlook towards the future plans of the LHC and the experiments.
