Speakers: Philip Orr (Historian) and Tom Hartley (former Lord Mayor of Belfast)

Join the Institute of Irish Studies and Liverpool Irish Festival for a discussion at the Museum of Liverpool on the nature of Reconciliation and the work being done to unify the two communities in Northern Ireland. Philip Orr and Tom Hartley will discuss the importance of the Easter 1916 Rising to the Nationalist tradition and of the Battle of the Somme to the Unionist tradition. The event will be followed by a Q&A session and a tour of the Museum of Liverpool’s poppy gallery and Liverpool 1916 display.
