Staff in our Institute of Irish Studies invite you to the launch of Dr Niall Carson's book, 'Rebel by Vocation: Seán O’Faoláin and the Generation of The Bell'.

Niall's book is a comprehensive study of one of the most influential literary groups in post-independence Ireland: the writers and editors of the literary magazine, The Bell. Seán O'Faoláin and the generation of writers that matured in the shadows of W. B. Yeats and James Joyce dominated the literary landscape in Ireland in the build-up to, and during, the Second World War.

Refreshments will be served during a book signing after the launch.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. Please RSVP by Monday, 14 March 2016, to Dorothy Lynch: dorothy@liverpool.ac.uk at the Institute with your name, contact details, and number of guests.
