Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

Daniel M. Fox, an author, policy adviser, mentor, and visiting faculty member, is president emeritus of the Milbank Memorial Fund. He has, since 1961, been publishing articles and books in the literatures of health services research, health and social policy, law, medicine, economic, cultural and intellectual history, and the history of medicine and health. His most recent book is The Convergence of Science and Governance: Research, Health Policy and American States (University of California Press, 2010). Fox has served in three federal agencies, government in two states, and as a faculty member and administrator at Harvard and Stony Brook Universities. He holds AB, AM and PhD degrees from Harvard University.

The Ivens lecture is a new annual public event, named after Frances Ivens (1870-1944), one of Liverpool’s first female doctors. It is co-sponsored by the University of Liverpool, The Liverpool Medical Institution and the Liverpool Medical History Society.

Refreshments will be available from 5.00 pm, and the lecture will be followed by a reception and dinner. Dinner reservation requests (£20.00 per person) to be sent to admin@lmi.org.uk.
