Production of value added chemicals from plant biomass and fossil fuel requires catalytic activation of strong C-O, C-H and C-C bonds. Catalytic activation of these bonds often occurs under harsh conditions and leads to complex mixtures of products. To solve these issues and make many industrial chemical processes cleaner and safer, more active and selective catalysts should be developed. This talk will discuss our contribution toward addressing this challenge.
