Join Dr Jasmin Tzortzakakis Malik, GP and Health Inclusion Specialist, in conversation with Dr Anna Lamond, for a discussion spanning clinical practice, lived experience, and the wider context of health and care.
The session will explore stress, lifestyle medicine, and the body’s early signals, alongside Jasmin’s work in health inequalities and inclusion health. Drawing on her experience working with vulnerable populations, including people experiencing homelessness, the conversation will reflect how early adversity and trauma shape health, behaviour, and decision-making across the lifespan.
Within the context of today’s NHS, the discussion will consider the reality that many patients are waiting, often becoming more unwell, or living with symptoms that do not meet thresholds for formal pathways.
In this space, lifestyle medicine becomes an essential part of proactive care. It is a practical way of equipping people with the understanding and tools to manage their health.
Alongside this, Jasmin will reflect on her personal experience of Long COVID, and the process of researching and navigating her own condition. Drawing on knowledge from physiology and high-altitude medicine, alongside areas such as gut health and pacing, she will explore how the body responds under sustained strain. These insights informed the development of her Adaptive Integrative Framework (AIF), a model of lifestyle medicine with principles that extend beyond Long COVID and are applicable across a range of health conditions.
The event will be followed by audience Q&A and book signing. You are welcome to join in person at the School otherwise an online dial-in option is available.
