Dr Odile B. Harrison is an Associate Professor and Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the genomics, population structure and antimicrobial resistance of pathogenic Neisseria, particularly Neisseria gonorrhoeae. She leads international genomic surveillance collaborations and co-developed the LINcode multi-resolution lineage nomenclature system for tracking gonococcal strains. She also leads the first UK study investigating Neisseria carriage in men who have sex with men, examining how oropharyngeal ecology, recombination and public health interventions such as DoxyPEP may influence antimicrobial resistance evolution and the emerging convergence between N. gonorrhoeae and N. meningitidis.
