As part of Sustainability Week and Feel Good February 2026, staff and students are invited to join a guided tour of The Spine, one of the world’s healthiest buildings, located in Paddington Village within Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter.

The Spine is part of the wider innovation district closely connected to the University of Liverpool, and the University occupies workspace within the building. During the tour, you’ll explore how The Spine demonstrates best practice in sustainable and healthy building design, offering valuable insights that align with the University’s Sustainability Strategy, particularly the Campus & Operations pillar.

You’ll learn about the building’s energy efficient systems, low-impact materials, and smart infrastructure, as well as its WELL Platinum certification and biophilic design features that prioritise health, wellbeing and productivity. Together, these elements show how sustainable buildings can reduce environmental impact while creating better places to work and study.

This is a unique opportunity to experience a landmark building within the University’s wider ecosystem and see how sustainability and wellbeing are being embedded into the spaces that support learning, research and collaboration.

Open to all staff and students.

Booking required, places are limited.
