Abstract:
Research is a strange game indeed. In this informal presentation I will pull together nearly 30 years of Doctoral supervisory and management experience to provide some insights into the PhD journey and what it looks like from a student (and supervisor) perspective. Along the way we will dip into the highs and lows of being a PhD student and what to expect over the next few years of your life. I will also share some of my own research highlights which started in numerical geophysics and ended up in sewage and drainage.
