The University's Liverpool Shared Research Facilities (LIV-SRF) are hosting an inaugural showcase event with an opening address by Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Jones and a keynote talk from UKRI.

This one-day event will be an opportunity to hear from all of our Shared Research Facilities (SRFs) on their world-class expertise and capabilities, as well as more detailed case studies from users who have elevated their research through access to SRFs. There will be an extended exhibition session offering ample opportunity to interact directly with SRF staff, as well as discussion on applications for facility technologies, and information on the LIV-SRF Voucher Scheme.

SRFs have been operating across the University of Liverpool for over a decade, but we have now unified our 25 SRFs into a single university-wide entity in LIV-SRF. Our SRFs now span across the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and the Faculty of Science and Engineering, offering flexible access to high-end equipment and expertise, available to both internal and external users including NHS Trusts, SMEs, industry and other HE institutions. Each SRF can provide academic and technical knowledge to support cutting-edge research programmes. SRFs presenting at the showcase include:

Scanning Electron Microscopy SRF
Biomedical Electron Microscopy Unit
Centre for Cell Imaging
Cell Sorting and Mass Cytometry Facility
Low Energy Ion Scattering
Computational Biology Facility
Tick Cell Biobank
Egg Facility
Early Career Laser Laboratory
Albert Crewe Centre for Electron Microscopy
Centre for Preclinical Imaging
Liverpool MRI Centre
Centre for Genomic Research
X Ray Diffraction
High-Field NMR facility
Centre for Metabolomics Research
Proteomics SRFs
Nanolithography SRF

This event is open to the University of Liverpool staff and students and external attendees.
