Create a calendar file

Click on "Create a calendar file" and your browser will download a .ics file for this event.

Microsoft Outlook: Download the file, double-click it to open it in Outlook, then click on "Save & Close" to save it to your calendar. If that doesn't work go into Outlook, click on the File tab, then on Open & Export, then Open Calendar. Select your .ics file then click on "Save & Close".

Google Calendar: download the file, then go into your calendar. On the left where it says "Other calendars" click on the arrow icon and then click on Import calendar. Click on Browse and select the .ics file, then click on Import.

Apple Calendar: The file may open automatically with an option to save it to your calendar. If not, download the file, then you can either drag it to Calendar or import the file by going to File >Import > Import and choosing the .ics file.

On 22-24 May, the Pint of Science festival will simultaneously bring thousands of scientists and their research out of the lab and into pubs, cafes and community halls near you. The three-day festival has grown astronomically since its inception, and 2023 will see its tenth anniversary with events in over 25 countries and hundreds of cities around the world. Each night will provide a unique line up of talks, demonstrations and live experiments held in a relaxed and informal environment.

Wednesday 24th May:
Brains on Booze, Stats News and Dementia Care Views: Tempest on Tithebarn
Spending a Penny: The Shipping Forecast
Spotlight on Society: Leaf
Out of this World: The Philharmonic Dining Rooms

Alongside the main talks, this year audiences go head-to-head in the largest ever multi-city pub quiz, in association with interactive quiz company, Kwizzbit. Teams in each venue compete against others across the city and the rest of the UK as they tackle a series of science-themed questions to prove which city has the strongest trivia knowledge.
