This year, Engage is creating a city-wide discussion about how ordinary people, citizens, feel about the way their city is run exploring together what we think about the state of our local democracy and whether people feel engaged or not with the decision-making process.

We are excited to be joined in our first seminar by Dr Camila Vergara, a fellow at the University of Cambridge, and specialist on both old and new forms of democracy and citizen decision-making.

Dr Vergara will share international examples of how other cities and regions around the world are doing democracy differently, in a way that benefits local citizens. Her talk will be followed by responses from a local panel, and an audience Q&A.
