We have a dedicated, highly qualified team of specialist equine anaesthetists available 24 hours a day, to support the surgical and medical teams.
Standing or general anaesthesia is required by many of our cases. All members of the team hold or are working towards the European Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia, which is the 'gold' standard for the field. They work with the latest knowledge and equipment to administer safe care.
Our operating theatres are fitted with piped gas supplies, anaesthesia machines, state-of-the-art ventilators and an array of equipment to monitor vital signs. CCTV linked recovery boxes allow closely observed post-operative care and the ability to offer rope or controlled recovery such as post fracture fixation cases.
The anaesthesia service is an integral part of our critical care team, managing patients in our intensive care units to administer effective pain-relief, fluid therapy and neonatal care.
