Following the successful launch of the podcast Venice: The fifth siren, the Italian subject group at Liverpool University are delighted to announce two masterclasses led by the authors of the podcast themselves.

Venice,a place revered for its beauty and heritage, is the nexus where the current global crises - environmental, cultural, social and technological - meet. Using the podcast as a common thread, we will talk about the environmental balance of Venice and the problems the city is facing today. We will also talk about the creative process of producing a podcast containing scientific data as well as artistic and literary inputs and through this we will discuss how literature and technologies help us to reveal the changing nature of Venice.
