Official Certificates of Engagement for All CE Students

This year marks the final year for students to build credit and achieve one of the Certificates in Higher Education. We found that fewer and fewer students were opting to take credit and gain these awards with preference being to take the courses for enjoyment, without added pressures of final assessments. This gave us the opportunity to rethink certificates, and we’ve come up with something that should benefit every single CE student taking CE courses: Certificates of Engagement for each and every course completed with a minimum of 70% attendance:
These are formal University of Liverpool certificates that mark your participation in our courses, and your commitment to learning with us. Dr Glenn Godenho, Director of CE, said: ‘I’m really pleased that we can formally recognise the effort that each and every one of our CE students puts in to their learning. Whether studying new skills for the work place, to broaden horizons, or just picking up a subject that you’ve always wanted to know more about, now each and every activity carries a formal marker of achievement that we can email out to students upon completion of courses’.
The certificates were launched this year, and students have already started to receive them, but we also want to thank all of our students who have taken credit-bearing courses and qualified for the old awards. One of the last students to achieve an award through this system is Elizabeth McNulty. After several years of study, Elizabeth has now amassed enough credit to qualify for the award of the Personal and Professional Development Certificate. Elizabeth remarks ‘My CE experience allowed me to focus on something I am passionate about, whilst working towards an award. It gave my CV a competitive edge, and helped me to further develop valuable skills’. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
