Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust

The C-GULL study is a single centre study, based at The Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust (LWHFT). LWHFT specialises in the health of women and their babies - both within the hospital and out in the community. This Trust represents some of the most outstanding expertise and experience in this field and, is the only such specialist trust in the UK - and the largest women’s hospital of its kind.

Clinical research is a major part of the Trust’s work; supporting the regional ambition to deliver academic-led healthcare. LWHFT is delighted to provide all site operational, clinical, and research and development support services for the C-GULL Study in collaboration with The Harris Research Centre, based within the University of Liverpool.

LWHFT and the Harris Research Centre have a long and successful history of working collaboratively to deliver world class clinical research in women’s and children’s health.  A dedicated C-GULL Research Centre will be based in the academic unit of the Trust that will be the home of the study over the next years and a strong multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers, including Research Midwives, Nurses and Health Care Practitioners, will work alongside the study management team to ensure the participant experience is supportive, informative and friendly.

Clinical research and innovation is always a priority for Liverpool Women’s as the only specialist Trust in the country for women and babies. Improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families across the region goes hand in hand with what Liverpool Women’s stands for. We are extremely proud to be the home of the C-GULL study for the coming years and of the multidisciplinary teams within the Trust who will be supporting this valuable programme of research.
