The University of Liverpool has achieved an impressive improvement in graduate outcomes according to sector-wide figures released by HESA.

The university saw a rise of 6% in graduates who are in high-skilled employment 15 months after graduation compared to the previous year. This is an all-time high and has lifted our position within the Russell Group by 4 places.

Overall, according to The Times graduate prospects metric, the University has climbed 10 places to 27th out of 132 universities for the percentage of UK full-time first-degree graduates in highly skilled employment or further study. This positions the University of Liverpool within the top quartile for graduate prospects in the UK.

Iwan Williams, Head of Careers & Employability said: “I am delighted with the latest results of the Graduate Outcomes survey, which reflect the exceptional achievements of our graduates, and the dedication of our staff from across the University.

This significant improvement is a direct result of our transformative employability change programme, and the news instils a great sense of confidence in our approach, confirming that employability at the University of Liverpool is exceptionally effective and actively fostering the success of our graduates."

Closing the gaps

A closer look at Graduate Outcomes data by student characteristics reveals positive employment results for almost all priority access and participation (APP) groups.

What is the Graduate Outcomes survey?

Graduate Outcomes is the biggest UK annual social survey and captures the perspectives and current status of recent graduates.

All graduates who completed a course will be asked to take part in the survey 15 months after they finish their studies. The survey aims to help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development.

We want to understand the graduate perspective and what success looks like for you following your time in higher education. Your responses will help your university or college to evaluate and promote their courses.

You will receive your survey invitation around 15 months after you completed your course. Influence the future of education – be part of the picture.
