Charlotte Towell is a class of 2021 Chemistry graduate, now working as a Quality Control Laboratory Analyst at Vitaflo International - A Nestlé Health Science Company.

How did you get to where you are now?

After graduating, I spent a year working in hospitality. It was the same job that I had maintained throughout my university career. It made me happy and I had fun there, and I wasn't ready to give it up right after university, Beginning of 2022, I decided to finally start pursuing a career path and began looking at analytical positions through LinkedIn.

What has been your best experience as part of your role?

There's a push for personal progression. There's personal projects involved in each person's role, along with daily duties.

What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey?

The rejections. I had 100s of rejections before even securing an interview.

What are your top tips for other students and graduates?

1. Don't panic if you don't think you'll get the classification you want. Not one interview asked me about my classification.

2. Make sure you're pursuing something that makes you happy. Happiness and mental well being > money and pleasing others.

3. Don't let the rejections get you down. A job that suits you will come along. You just have to keep pushing and not give up on applying
