Muhammad Moslemzadeh is a Mechanical Engineering Integrated Masters graduate now working as a Graduate Project Engineer at Briggs Automotive Company.

How did you get to where you are now?

After graduating university I decided to take some time off before pursuing my career. When a course supervisor called me and told me about the opportunity available at BAC I immediately took it. I already knew of the company and knew that it would be perfect for me. After a couple of interviews, I was offered the job! Now, I'm working a role that I enjoy, every single day. Because I love what I do, I don't feel like being at work is taking anything away from me.

What has been your best experience as part of your role?

Designing new things and using the cutting edge of technology to build supercars.

What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Getting used to pace at which full-time employment jobs work has been challenging. At University, you are sometimes given a whole year to complete a project, but at work you are expected to complete projects in much shorter time frames.

What are your top tips for other students and graduates?

1. Take every opportunity you are given. Whether its doing extracurricular activities, or helping out in university during open days, these opportunities will help you grow. And it's things like this that will stay with you forever.

2. Use your time wisely. If you're a student, you will have more free time to spend on things outside of University. Don't waste this time on pointless things. Instead, use it to do things that will benefit you in the future. For example, getting a driving license while in University is much easier than getting it once you're in full-time employment!

3. Have fun! Doing something you enjoy can help relieve some stress. If you find yourself in stressful situations, take a break and do something you find fun for a short while. You'll find that by giving yourself this break, you will come back with a clearer mind and be more efficient in what you do. Don't use this as an excuse to procrastinate!
