Biosciences Employability Week from the Careers & Employability Team takes place from 3 – 7 November 2025.

Join us to explore career options, connect with employers, participate in interactive skills sessions.

Monday 3 November – What can you do with your degree day?

This online day helps Biosciences explore what they can do with their degree, get the most out of the university’s careers platform Handshake, and discover opportunities with small to medium enterprises in the (SMEs) in the Liverpool City Region. Perfect for those unsure of their next steps or interested in exploring new tools.

Tuesday 4 November – Postgraduate Day

In-person sessions exploring postgraduate study and research options, from applications to specific opportunities within the School of Biosciences, as well as alternative career pathways beyond Biosciences.

Wednesday 5 November – Get Hired Day

The Sherrington Building will host five themed panels, allowing you to explore different sectors and learn more about potential employers. Representatives will share insights into their organisations, available roles, and recruitment processes. You will also have the opportunity to ask the panellists questions.

There will also be a Networking hour, allowing you to chat with employers, alums, and other students. There will also be the chance to learn about the Biosciences Summer Studentship Scheme and hear from students who have just completed the scheme.

Thursday 6 November – Enterprise and Gaining Experience Day

Are you a first or second-year student looking for work experience this summer or alongside your degree programme? Or a final year or postgraduate student year student looking for vital real-world experience to showcase to employers? Gain an Experience Day provides the opportunity to connect with employers whilst gaining valuable skills for your CV.

These in-person events fill up fast, so be sure to book your place sooner rather than later!

Friday 7 November – Application Masterclass

An online day focused on CV writing, tailoring applications, and learning interview tips. A great opportunity to enhance your job application skills.
