Liverpool Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (LivSURF)

LivSURF is a prestigious research fellowship designed exclusively for students articulating from XJTLU to the University of Liverpool. It offers:

• Hands-on research experience in world-class facilities
• Mentorship from internationally leading academics
• A unique opportunity to work on collaborative projects during your time in Liverpool
• A comprehensive induction programme and training
• Upon Completion, students will be eligible for a Liverpool Advantage Research Award

Who can apply?

• All undergraduate students who have articulated from XJTLU and are in Year 2 at Liverpool (XJTLU Stage 3)
• Students on a 2+1+1 exchange from Taicang (subject to bespoke timelines)
• You must have passed all Semester 1 assessments

The programme

• Duration: 4, 6, 8 or 10 weeks (June–August)
• Training: Mandatory research integrity and ethics training (1–5 June)
• Project Period: 8 June – 14 August 2026
• Final Presentation: Poster Fair in September (Taicang students present earlier)
• Recognition: Completion earns the Liverpool Advantage Research Award
