Website - Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise

The Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise sits at the heart of the University of Liverpool’s enterprise ecosystem. It is a dedicated hub designed to inspire, connect, and support the next generation of founders. Whether you are at the earliest idea stage or already running a venture, this is where creativity meets possibility. More than a physical centre, it is a launchpad for student and graduate entrepreneurs to test, grow, and bring their ideas to life.

A space built for entrepreneurs

The Centre is not just somewhere to work; it is a place to collaborate, experiment, and thrive. Once registered with the Entrepreneurship & Start-Up Team, you’ll gain access to premium facilities that support every stage of your entrepreneurial journey.

Hot-desking areas give you a professional environment to focus and build your ideas. Collaboration zones are designed to spark teamwork and creativity, while a flexible workshop space can host everything from brainstorming sessions to formal presentations. The Centre also offers a fully equipped podcasting room for content creation and a presentation prompter to help you practice and refine your delivery.

Every detail has been designed to create an environment where students and graduates can explore, connect, and share ideas in a professional yet supportive setting.

Who is Sir Peter Rigby?

The Centre is named in honour of Sir Peter Rigby, a pioneering entrepreneur and philanthropist who built one of the UK’s largest private businesses. His career was defined by innovation, ambition, and a deep commitment to supporting the next generation. Those values continue to shape the work we do here at the University of Liverpool, making the Centre both a tribute to his legacy and a living space for future entrepreneurs.

More than a workspace

What makes the Sir Peter Rigby Centre unique is that it offers much more than facilities — it provides a thriving community. The Entrepreneurship & Start-Up Team runs programmes, mentoring, and events from the Centre, creating opportunities to connect with peers, learn from experienced professionals, and access targeted support.

From the Design Your Future programme, which takes ideas through a 12-week journey to become viable businesses, to the Entrepreneur Drop-In Clinics where you can talk through your ideas in an informal setting, the Centre is the home base for our flagship initiatives. You can also book 1-2-1 sessions with Entrepreneurs in Residence, gaining tailored advice from experienced founders and industry leaders, or apply for the Enterprise Fund, which provides cash grants to test, launch, and grow your venture.

The Centre brings all these opportunities under one roof, giving you both a space and a community to help your ambitions take shape.

Be part of the community

The Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise is open to all University of Liverpool students and recent graduates with the ambition to explore entrepreneurship. Becoming part of the Centre means joining a wider enterprise community that includes The Green Room on LinkedIn and Teams, funding competitions, mentoring programmes, and support that continues long after graduation.

If you’re ready to make the most of this space, get in touch with the team and register to start your journey.
