Founded in 1336, the University of Camerino has seven Schools;  Architecture and Design, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Law, Pharmacy, Environmental Science, Veterinary Medical Science, Science and Technology.  Each School manages its own research and didactic activities both within its scientific field and in an interdisciplinary manner.

Diverse courses are offered at the University and the specific study itineraries are designed on the basis of suggestions made by economic and professional personnel.  In particular, in line with its policy to increase international cooperation and to establish an international higher education network, UNICAM offers a comprehensive range of programs, ranging from undergraduate courses to doctorate studies, especially designed for international students, with lectures in English.

UNICAM holds the quality control certification of ISO 9001:2000 for all university activities and services, cultural and sporting activities, tutoring services, certified language skills and training for all university students in leading sector companies, high level and innovative master’s, job placement upon graduation.  These are just some aspects of this modern University as well as its ancient tradition.  For all offered courses, the teaching methods aim to integrate the fundamental aspects of theoretical didactics, with the early professional inclusion, in dynamic and competitive frameworks; aiming to obtain and merge three results - curiosity, knowledge and know-how.

UNICAM has a long and important tradition in scientific research undertaking many innovative research programmes and activities.  Since 2005 UNICAM has adopted, as with other Italian Universities, the European Charter for Researchers and a Code of Conduct for their Recruitment.

The material science group at UNICAM has been active for over twenty years in the field of functional materials for energy storage and conversion devices. The group has developed relevant expertise in sol-gel and solid-state synthesis and electrochemical characterisation of advanced materials for Li-ion batteries and PEM fuel cells in addition to in-situ structural and electronic characterisation using state-of-the-art techniques such as XRD and XAS. This activity has resulted in many publications in International journals and patent registrations.
